Letra Supporting People Database

The Letra Supporting people database is currently used by four local authorities.

Supporting People collects information for the government about providers and the support services they offer.

Contract information is then set up within the system using the information collected and contract schedules are produced.

Funding amounts are agreed and stored on the database.  A Schedule of funding amounts is produced and sent to the provider as part of the contract.

Clients are stored against some of the services so that a clear record is kept of which clients receive the funding and how much they have received since starting.

Payments are made to the providers on a four weekly basis and a schedule of payments is produced showing the amount that will be paid as :-

A fixed contract price
An variable amount based on the clients receiving the support
Adjustments which have been as clients enter and leave the service.

A total of over £6 million is paid each year by each of the four authorities.  All figures produced by the Letra database are audited.

Monitoring information is recording within the system to make sure that the Services are providing adequate support for their clients.

Complex Data Tables are sent to the government on a three monthly basis for analysis and to use in their hub services.
